Hillary To Unveil Health Plan Monday

Hillary Clinton is set to roll out her new health care plan on Monday at an event in Iowa, she revealed during yesterday's recording for the Slate/Yahoo!/Huffington Post online forum. And she clearly knows that she has to finesse this issue in light of the stalled health-care reform effort from 1993-1994.

"Obviously, I hope the headline is that, you know, Hillary is back, and we're going to get it done this time, because we tried and were not successful in '93-'94," said Clinton. "And as we all know, the problems of the uninsured and the underinsured, the pressures on doctors and nurses and hospitals, the loss of jobs with employers struggling to maintain health insurance is all much worse than it was when we were trying to do this before."

Videos of all the Democratic candidates separately answering questions will be posted later today.

This is Hillary's big chance to lead on an issue. Its her only chance, really. If she comes out with a bloated, super-complicated plan, its going to hurt her. If she comes out forcefully with something that makes real sense, she may be able to lock the nom. down - but it has to be something more elegant and impressive than Obama's and Edwards' proposals...can't say I'm holding my breath though.

I wish her well. We have GOT to have a national health care plan single payer type run by the Medicare system.
The wingnuts and insurance industry will go apesh*t with cries of "socialized medicine," but it won't wash this time around because the public has had a bellyful.
My own med insurance premium has jumped 36% because I crossed an age threshold!
I'll vote for any Dem who can walk and chew gum at the same time.
I think it will be time for some payback too in the form of prosecutions of Bushies.

Will Hill's plan (or that of any Governent run plan) allow for individuals to stay in their own plan?
In other words, for those who don't need/ don't want to switch....will these plans make that possible?

teardownthiswall, do you really think the company you work for is going to keep paying for the insurance you currently enjoy when they can boot you to whatever national healthcare plan gets enacted?

BTW, that won't be the Dem's fault. That will be your profit at all cost business's fault for not keeping faith with promises it made to you.

I am sure I don't follow your point-

I an just asking if these plans will be such that if someone wants to stay in their own coverage/ plan....will they have that option (under proposed Healthcare plans presented by Dem candidates)-

What, don't you folks read the papers?

Hillary has brought most of the big pharmaceutical and health insurance outfits on board as funders. They knew better than to leave her out there to try that single-payer shit again -- she just might pull it off next time.

So, they bought her.

Her plan will be super complicated, and involve some of Federal payouts into the coffers of the current health insurance companies.

It's the New Way Forward, whether it's under a Republican or Democrat. The US government operates for the benefit of America's Super Citizens, the corporations. Not for the benefit of two-legged citizens.

Those are just cattle.

Antifa - I hope you're wrong.

I agree this is perhaps her one, best chance to show that she's for real, independent of the corporate/lobbyist web that so many on the left accuse her of being caught in.

Not to mention as the frontrunner her position on one of the country's most important issues had better be a real, workable solution!
