Walter Mondale To Endorse Hillary
Hillary Clinton will reportedly pick up the support of former Vice President and 1984 presidential nominee Walter Mondale, bringing her total number of endorsements from past Democratic presidential nominees to three. She has already been endorsed by George McGovern — and of course by her husband Bill Clinton, the only one of the three to have won the presidency.

Mondale's a good guy, but he's an apparatchik to the core.

However, I'm basing my vote on who gets the most endorsements from Nobel Peace Prize winners. If Gore and Carter split, I sure hope some other winner endorses a Dem candidate so that I'll know who to vote for!

Dunno... wrote on October 12, 2007 1:22 PM:You say Bill Clinton has endorsed her. I have never actually seen a Bill endorsement. I mean, yeah, he campaigns for her all the time, and yeah, he's kinda her husband and all, but technically, I've never seen an endorsement...

Ha. Good catch.
But did you really imagine Camp Counselor Kleefeld would ever post/tout/acknowledge that endorsement?
Quoting Kleefeld's ostensible partner Greg Sargent: "Something tells me that Camp Hillary won't be touting this column on her campaign web site. Nor TPM Election Clinton for that matter.
The only surprise here is why TPM Election Clinton insists on pretending Kleefeld is anything but a Clinton Camp Counselor.

From the op section in today's Wall St. Journal: Clinton Health Plan Apes Romney's a.k.a. "Hillary Care -- The Preview" by Sally C. Pipes (health policy adviser to Giuliani)
President Bill Clinton famously declared that the era of big gonverment is over-- after the ill-considered scheme to remake American healthcare his wife helped to cook up in 1993 helped Republicans retake Congress in 1994. Now Hillary Clinton is back, touting an "American Health Choices Plan."pgl wrote on October 12, 2007 2:40 PM:The American Health Choices Plan, based on mandates--including community rating and guaranteed issue for insurance companies--more regulation and increased taxes, is not a recipe for cost control but for disaster. For proof, you need look no further than Massachusetts. Mitt Romney enacted a similar plan last year. Early results aren't great.
Isn't Senator Clinton hoping Dukakis will endorse Senator Obama? Incidentally, has President Carter weighed in?

Laugh all you want, but the comfort level re Hillary, of Democratic Party regulars gets a boost every time someone who they once cared about and voted for speaks in her favor.
"Getting Fuzzy With Fritz" I call it.
