Romney Hits Opponents On Abortion In New South Carolina Mailer
The Romney campaign has just gone negative against his rivals in a new pro-life mailer the campaign has now dropped in South Carolina. One interesting tidbit: It says that Romney is "the only major Presidential candidate who supports the Republican Party's pro-life platform: A Constitutional amendment banning abortion nationwide."
This is interesting, because it's an effort to pretend that Mike Huckabee, who also supports such a ban, and is emerging as a serious conservative challenger to Romney, doesn't exist.
The mailer is similar to another Romney piece posted yesterday by Jonathan Martin in which he says he's the only "leading" Republican candidate supporting a Constitutional ban on gay marriage -- a stance that Huckabee also holds.

And then there's something he won't talk about, his Religion. With all due respect, how can this country have a president who lies, flip-flops, and refuses to discuss his religion (which is seen as a cult by millions). No thanks. I'll pass on Mitt Romney.

1) Mitt is lying, because he (Huckabee) is also 100% against abortion and gay marriage, and
2) Mitt is a flip-flopper, because he supported abortion and gay rights while he was governor of Massachusetts.
Of course, Huckabee would be the weakest of all Republican candidates for President, but if he could knock off Romney now, he might actually get the nomination.

TPM, great story here on Mitt's dishonesty. It happened near the end of his term when he was trying to help her in her run to replace him as Gov.

I'm hoping they're ALL the weakest Republican, but I haven't seen any other popular signs of support for any other Repub out here ...
