Romney Ad: "Michigan Is Personal To Me"

Mitt Romney has a new TV spot up in Michigan, talking about how he grew up in Michigan and how important it is for him that the state do well. The ad also shows pictures of Romney as a small child alongside his late father George, who served as governor of the state back in the 60s.

With lines like this, the ad might have actually been effective if he were running for governor: "We need new leaders with the experience and energy to turn us around. Let's invest in the future with new technology and innovation and unleash the power of Michigan."

Yaaawwn. The vast majority of folks here in the frozen Mitten can barely remember Romney's governorship - and are hard-pressed to name much of anything he did when he was here. 40+ years is a long time ago, pal - you've got no street cred here, so move it along.

That being said, I understand Kos is advocating for me to go and cast a primary ballot for Romney to prolong the internecine warfare that is the Republican race to the nomination. What's absolutely hysterical is that Suckabee is now urging Michigan DEMOCRATS to vote for him in the Rethug primary. With such great choices, what's a disenfranchised D to do?

Can't. Stop. LAUGHING.

Kos sez: Michigan Democrats, please vote Romney! Probably not a terrible idea.

Oops. Lets try that link again. That was strange.

"Personal for me?"

Wasn't that Clinton's line??

CalD wrote on January 11, 2008 4:12 PM:

That's right, YY. Hillary Clinton personally invented the words "personal," "for" and "me."

He's gonna get sued by Hillary for stealing her current strategy if he keeps that up.
