Effective and targeted
Maybe he should stop whining and try to actually win something.
After all, the guy has been running for president since January 2003 and thus far won only a single primary.
In fact, maybe that's why no one covers him...
Angry Vet wrote on January 17, 2008 3:40 PM:Definitely like it. I wish it was covered, but the media has been trying to make this a two person race since last summer.
phil james wrote on January 17, 2008 4:02 PM:The point is he simply can't generate support if the media ignores him. The support follows the media in this particular race. They have ordained Obama as the new kid in town and Hillary as the establishment foe and that's the horse race. That's it. It is truly idiotic to suggest that he ought to win something first to get coverage if he is denied the possibility of garnering support by the mainstream media who would rather have a good old entertaining time with BO and HC rather than focus on the tough issues this campaign should be all about. It's the country's loss if everything is entertainment all the time.
Tom wrote on January 17, 2008 4:16 PM:He needs to say something like this in the debate. This would have been a good question to ask in the last debate: "Why do you think the media is ignoring me?"
phil james wrote on January 17, 2008 4:24 PM:NO. You don't ask your opponents in the debate why the media is ignoring you. You ask Timmeh and Brian who are sitting right there in front of you and the rules be damned.
Greg wrote on January 17, 2008 4:25 PM:it's unclear to me why Edwards' failure to win anything explains the lack of coverage his campaign got in the months and months before Iowa, when he was basically tied in that state in multiple polls.
how does that work again?
also, is that what our criterion should be for deciding what's newsworthy?

---------------
tell that to Mike Huckabee. or Ron Paul, even.
fact is a lot of people are turned off by Edwards' combativeness, and most of those of us that aren't don't think he has a Cheney's chance in Heaven of winning and executing these policies.
NYC4Obama wrote on January 17, 2008 7:08 PM:I simply can not understand John Edwards' campaign. Who on earth decided to use the "Dueling Banjos" song from "Deliverance" in this ad? It makes no sense. It only conjures up one thought, which is the Ned Beatty "squeal like a pig" scene. Which makes me think of a new campaign slogan for Edwards. How about this one: "Boy, you got a purdy haircut!"
