Video: Kerry Endorses Obama, Praises His Eloquence
John Kerry endorses Obama in South Carolina, says the Illinois Senator has the capacity to "speak out so loudly that Washington has absolutely no choice but to listen."
Kerry also gets off a pretty good joke that's also a poignant reference to his own eloquence deficit, saying: "I was proud to help introduce Barack to the nation when I asked him to speak to our national convention in 2004. Obviously Barack did all the heavy lifting."

Kerry to Dems: 'Don't make a pragmatic but losing choice again in 2008'
No matter what you think of him, Kerry is very important as a symbol of establishment saying 'Obama is experienced enough' to all the Dems who are tempted to make the same kind of 'pragmatic' but losing choice for Hillary that they made for Kerry in 2004.
I was a big supporter of Bill Clinton, but if the current Clinton camp pulls this off by sliming Obama, I might actually stomach a McCain vote against Hillary in November. And I suspect there are enough independent oriented Democrats like myself who are considering the same.
Go Obama!

i am a green party guy, i have never voted for a dem or republican in a presidential race, but i can say one thing for sure... i will not under any circumstance be voting for any republican in this election. tom you are nutty, you are underestimating the repulsion of the people for the slimy republicans. i for one will be pulling the lever for whatever dem wins.
One losing candidate endorsing another I guess. If Obama had just won NH, all these endorsements might mean something. It's interesting that the biggest endorsement (Gore) is still out there. He's the only one who could really change the race in one candidate's favor.

For those of you who still have not heard:
There is a WONDERFUL and INSPIRING music video on Youtube.com entitled "Obama Portrait Music Video by Bjarne O."
You can use the free downloaded high-quality stereo version from the composer's website in DVD form to show at house parties. Even people who knew nothing at all about Obama have been moved: either a thrilling introduction, or further inspiration for those of us who already know and fight for Obama.
The music soundtrack, which incorporates excerpts from the famous 2004 speech, can also be downloaded separately in high-quality.
It is an uplifting and informative campaign tool - so please, SPREAD THE WORD!

Maybe there are, maybe there are not. I hope that there are not, because this attitude is totally self-defeating. Sen Obama is my first choice as well, but Sen Clinton would be orders of magnitude better for this country than any of the republicans. We are all democrats, after all.
Tom wrote on January 10, 2008 2:40 PM:As an Edwards supporter, there's no way I'm voting for Hillary Clinton. I won't vote for a Republican either obviously, but I'll just sit the election out. I've softened on Obama lately, so I might vote for him, but it's looking less likely that he'll be the nominee anyway.

Winning more votes for president than anyone had ever done in the history of the country .... except, to our everlasting sorrow, W. ------ (BTW, why treat him like he was a p__poor candidate who lost every state but his own or something? Yeah, it hurt to lose but there were a lot of reasons for that loss-or-maybe-not-loss other than Kerry. He earned, and still has, the admiration and respect of many people.)
Doginfollow wrote on January 10, 2008 3:35 PM:Elizabeth,
I'm with you. Kerry does not deserve the scorn he gets for his effort in 2004. He was, on balance, a good candidate who was prepared to be president. His handful of mistakes over the course of the whole campaign were no worse than the kind of blunders W. made every day before breakfast. Shame on us as a people for failing to take the opportunity he offered.
If it's any consolation, Gore got the same treatment for many years before people finally wised up and started treating him with some respect. I'm hopeful the same thing will happen for Kerry -- perhaps as our next Secretary of State.

Carter elected--politically incompetent.
Clinton elected-political genius.
Gore fails--Always had been politically incompetent.
Kerry fails--never a factor in the Senate--politically incompetent.
Gore gives kiss of death to Dean.
Kerry gives kiss of death to Obama.
Now it's Clinton versus Obama. Obama is a charismatic Gary Hart, whose new ideas came to a crashing halt with the simple phrase "Where's the beef?" Obama can say "change" all he wants but when has this senator of two years ever shown any political competence. That's right! Never.
I'll go with the Clintons anytime.

I haven't give him money since 2004 though. I'm still annoyed with him for losing Ohio by 100,000 votes, with 18 million dollars still sitting in the bank. Putz.
vicisstude wrote on January 11, 2008 1:22 AM:Kerry on endorsing Obama:
So why Obama instead of his former running mate and the former first lady?
“The times are different,” Kerry said. “The times demand different things.”
He said Obama’s race will not be an impediment to “most
Americans….This is 2008…I think most Americans are way beyond that.”
But what about Clinton’s argument that talking change is different than producing change? Listen to this, dear Flashees:
“He produced one of the most significant ethics reform bills we passed. He has been a legislator longer than Hillary Clinton.” And then this zinger: “Health care didn’t pass in 1994 if I recall.”
I would love to be on the Senate floor when they all get back.
