With Post And Courier Endorsement, McCain Sweeps Top South Carolina Papers

John McCain has been endorsed by the Charleston Post and Courier, which also supported him last time around in 2000.

This endorsement gives McCain a clean sweep of the top three newspapers in South Carolina — he has also been endorsed by the single largest paper, The State, as well as the Greenville News.

Well, that sets up the field.

A McCain loss in SC is the end of is candidacy. I'll bet I know what Rudy wants to happen.

As I've said before, he is the default, least bat-crap crazy Republican. (Which doesn't mean he isn't crazy, just marginally less crazy.)

I would agree that McCain is the least irredeemably bad of a superlatively rotten field of Thug party candidates. But this is all good news for the Dems if they can keep from blasting holes in the bottom of their own boat.

What that indicates is that of the Republicans, and of the intelligensia, those whom have paid attention to the facts and the stands on issues, that McCain is the best of the GOP.

Now will that sway the emotive vote?

Will that sway the evangelicals?

Some evangelicals state that science is BS becuase the world was created in 6 days and that evolution is just BS becuase of the book of numbers and civilization is only 8 thousand years old.

Of course they ask for 'proof' to exonerate their claims, they appeal to science and reason as they undermine it, but will they prevail?

Stay Tuned.

My bet is that it is a very close election where the negative ads, and the attacks have a possibility of backfiring as SC remembers the last election and resent being manipulated.

It will be close.

I disagree.

My outta my ass prediction is that history repeats itself, much to the chagrin of the Republican Party. Huckabee by 5.
